The team of Eastmed project presented the Eastmed MOOC in the International Conference Internationalisation and Economic Development in the European Higher Education Area and Beyond: strategies, policies and tools on Thursday, 14 of June 2018, at Laskaridis Foundation, organised by the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, in cooperation with the coordinator of the Jean Monnet Network “NEAR-EU” Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU), the Jean Monnet Chair on European Union’s Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies, the Laboratory of Education Policy, Research, Development and Interuniversity Cooperation and the Europe Direct University of Piraeus. The team presented the contribution of MOOCs to the internationalization of Higher Education and explained the design, the objectives and the expected impact of the Eastmed course. The presenters responded to questions about the structure of the course and the utility of MOOCs nowdays.

In the framework of the Erasmus + Program, East Med: Eastern Mediterranean Regional Training Partnership, the Centre for the Study of European politics and society at BGU organized in the at the 25th of May 2017, in the premises of the Ministry of foreign affairs, Jerusalem, Israel, a policy dialogue event with the title “ EUROPE AND THE EASTERN MEDITERRANEAN BASIN - IN THE HEART OF THE POLICY MAKING PROCESS”.

In the framework of the Eastmed Erasmus+ Project and the International Conference of the University of Piraeus entitled “ The World in Disarray” , the University of Piraeus organised a special policy panel at the Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Giannos Kranidiotis auditorium, on Thursday, 23rd of May. The subject of the panel was the “New Regionalism and the Eastern Mediterranean” while  Dr Foteini Asderaki coordinated the discussion, acting as the Chair of the panel.

In the framework of the Eastmed Erasmus+ Project, the University of Cyprus organised a special policy meeting at its premises of Ca’ Foscari University on Thursday, 18th of May. The subject of the discussion was the “Prospects and Challenges in the Eastern Mediterranean: Energy security and the Refugee Crisis” while Dr Pavlos Koktsidis was responsible for the coordination of the discussion. The participants of the round-table discussion were: Professor Joseph Joseph, Professor Constantine Constantinou, Dr Pavlos Koktsidis from the University of Cyprus and Ms Louise Hatjivasiliou from IOM ( office of Cyprus).
